Oh, um, hi.....
Awkward: Schmoozing attorneys at a firm reception for a firm that you are only marginally interested in working at.Really awkward: Having several of those attorneys stumble into the bar you are at five hours after the reception, when both you and them have clearly been drinking in the interim.
Even more awkward: When drunken 1st year associate for the firm shouts out "Hey, weren't you at our reception tonight?," and brings all five of his firm buddies over to talk to you and your non-law friend, in a conversation that could have gone down as the Webster definition of awkward and uncomfortable.
My thanks to the guy who appeared to be the only partner in the group, who eventually suggested they leave us alone and go outside. Whoever you are, you have my ultimate gratitude.

we all know law school is like high school. does this mean firm life is just more of the same?
